In November, our first Newsletter was all about giving thanks to all of the people who are interested in and supportive of our development work in Burundi; our Readers, Project Beneficiaries, Project Managers, Program Coordinator, Advisory Committee Members and our Donors.
Our last Newsletter was about giving gifts and making donations to the Haley McCready Outreach and Development Fund.
This Newsletter begins and ends with giving thanks to all of you who gave a gift; a donation to the Haley McCready Outreach and Development Fund. Thank you very, very much! This Newsletters begins and ends by letting all of you who have an interest in giving a gift know that there is still time to make a donation before the end of the tax year. The current Newsletter is all about giving gifts directly to our Project Associations, our Project Beneficiaries and receiving gifts directly from the Project Associations, the Project Beneficiaries. This Newsletter is all about different kinds of giving and it was wonderful to experience.
During my visit to Burundi in October and part of November, I was able visit all of our most active development projects. Before I traveled to Burundi, I was able to buy a number of old telephones. I bought the telephones with my own money and the hope that the phones could and would help with communication. Without telephones, telephone sim cards and telephone numbers, communication between the Project Beneficiaries and the Project Managers and the Program Coordinator can be very challenging. The volunteer Project Managers cannot and visit the projects all of the time. Giving telephones to the Project Associations has the potential to increase and improve communication through inexpensive text messages and brief telephone conversations.
I was able to give 14 telephones and chargers for the use of 20 Project Associations. The telephones were presented to the Association Presidents for the benefit and use of the Project Associations and the benefit of the Association Members. I underestimated how well the telephones would be received; the Project Beneficiaries were delighted with the gifts and I was delighted with their response.

All of the Project Beneficiaries were very pleased to receive a telephone, some were quite excited and some of them started dancing.

Although I have mixed feelings about it, sometimes the Project Beneficiaries give gifts to me and other visiting guests. Expressing their gratitude, goodness and generosity, the Project Beneficiaries are happy to give from the little they have.

It was a blessing for me to be able to give the telephones and to experience and appreciate the response from the Project Beneficiaries. It was a blessing for me to be able to receive some gifts and to experience and appreciate the goodness and generosity of our wonderful Project Beneficiaries. Thanks to your interest and support, it is a blessing for me to have the opportunity to be a part of our development work in Burundi. Blessings to you for your interest in and your support for the important development work we are all doing together in Burundi.
